Personal History                Nao Mitsuyan

Born in Tokyo in 1963. As I liked singing very much in my early childhood,
my parents let me enter a boys and girls'choir. All through my elementary and
junior high school days, I was active in that group.
After I completed the junior high school, I took the entrance examination to
Takarazuka Music School which is the training school attached to Takarazuka
Opera Company which is one of the greatest performing organizations in Japan,
putting musical ,operetta, dramas and others on the stage by the members only of
women. I was so lucky that I passed the exam at the top of the successful candidates.

In March of 1981, when finishing the hardest training course, we were admitted
to the company and made our debut. Since then I experienced various stages,
especially was given many chances to sing as a solo-singer.
In July,1990, I retired from Takarazuka and made my debut to the entertainment world
as a free lance singer. From then on I have given a regular recital every year and
 a mini-concert every season.

For a year from March,1991, I regularly appeared as a singer on NHK TV program
titled "YORU-NI-ARIGATO," and besides I played various parts of opera and musical
such as Puck in "A Mid-summer Night's Dream," Ermengarde in "long-Christmas Dinner,"
 Yamatohime in "Yamato-Takeru" and others.
Meanwhile, as , I had always wished to improve my self in music, I made up my mind to
enter a music academy and study from beginning.

In 1996 I ventured to take the entrance examination of Tokyo National University of
Fine Art and Music, and fortunately I passed the exam. As it is an unusual case that
one who has already been working in a professional world newly takes such a hard course,
my success was written up on many newspapers and magazines. Since then a year has
passed I am now studying very hard as a student, continuing the stage activity as a job.
When I got an information about this competition,  I felt like to try my ability again.
